Job Title: Receptionist
Location: Blantyre
Reports To: Front Office Manager
Job Summary:
The Hotel Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests and plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive guest experience. This role involves greeting guests, performing check-in and check-out procedures, handling reservations, and providing information and assistance to guests throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and greet guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor.

Perform check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.

Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and prompt resolution.

Confirm reservations and ensure accurate input of guest information in the hotel management system.

Update and manage room availability to optimize occupancy rates.

Handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.

Prepare and distribute keys, fobs, and room information to guests.

Coordinate with housekeeping department to ensure timely room availability

Answer phone calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate departments or individuals.

Communicate effectively with other hotel staff to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest service.

Relay important information and updates to the Front Office Manager.
Qualifications:

Certificate in hospitality or related field. Diploma in related field is an added advantage

Minimum of 1 year previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in using hotel management software and basic computer applications

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
-
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.

Willing to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, night, weekends, and holidays.
