ANNOUNCEMENT
QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER
The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is inviting
applications from suitably qualified candidates to be considered for the position of Quality Assurance Officer tenable at its Bunda College Campus.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Officer shall be responsible for the following:
a. Maintaining and updating data for quality assurance directorate for uploading on LUANAR website.
b. Oversee proper planning, development and managing of quality assurance plans and budgets.
c. Keeping accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis on quality related data.
d. Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures.
e. Conduct institutional self-assessment and prepare improvement plan
f. Facilitate internal and external moderation exercise
g. Mapping typologies of institutional data, articulating their relevance; facilitating data sharing and exchange
h. Gathering and analyzing data to produce meaningful information that informs improvement plan.
i. Collecting information on student needs and priorities to inform the planning of quality assurance service.
j. Providing statistical summaries of student evaluation of course and teaching scores.
k. Reviewing student feedback, through the student satisfaction survey and students evaluation questionnaire
l. Carrying out data collection on employer satisfaction, tracer and stakeholder surveys and analyses to inform policy direction.
m. Carrying out the process of accreditation of academic programmes, facilities and management systems.
n. Demonstrate experience in curriculum development, research, and knowledge of University management systems.
o. Submitting detailed reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
a. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Education or any relevant with credit.
b. A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage
c. Training in internal and external quality assurance and quality management system will be an added advantage
d. At least 3 years’ experience in data collection, data entry, management and data analysis.

a. Strong analytical and data management skills.
b. Good report writing skills.
c. Conscientious and responsible.
d. Excellent communication skills.
e. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
f. Attention to detail and results driven.
g. Proficient in MS Office.
h. In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant standards.
i. Excellent knowledge in various statistical packages.
j. Certification of quality management system is an added advantage (ISO 9001:2015) etc.)
CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT
The successful candidate shall be engaged on an initial 2 years fixed contract before they are can be considered for permanent appointment subject to satisfactory performance.
