Position Summary:

We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Public Health Assistant to support our healthcare team. This role is ideal for a passionate professional with in a health-related field and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to community health. You will work alongside healthcare professionals, both in the lab and in other fields, medical training, sales, providing clerical, administrative, and basic health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Sample collection, take and record vital signs; assist with basic physical examinations; ensure patient comfort.
  • Sample/Data Collection & Recording: Collect and label specimens; maintain accurate and organized patient records.
  • Clerical & Administrative Tasks: Answer phone calls; schedule appointments; prepare and file documents.
  • Community and Corporate Outreach: Participate in home and office visits; explain procedures to patients; address basic patient questions and providing health services.
  • Infection Control & Safety: Follow universal precautions and infection control protocols consistently by cleaning surroundings.
  • Referrals & Follow-Up: Assist with directing patients to appropriate care services.
  • Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain basic medical equipment.
  • Conduct health Trainings: Prepare and Provide basic trainings to a wide range of audience and training when necessary.
  • Public Health Implementation: Support health screenings activities, medical surveillance, research and community-based public health orders.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma in Nursing, Public Health, Environmental Health Technician, Laboratory Technology, Medical Office Assistant, or a related field.
  • Strong Computer knowledge with packages like Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Internet Explorer, Artificial Intelligence Language models, Social Media Apps
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, first aid, and patient care.
  • Competency in data entry and use of medical or office software.
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork, including home and corporate visits.
  • Wiling to work during public holidays and weekends.
  • Professional demeanor, empathy, and a commitment to ethical healthcare.

Work Environment:

You will operate in clinical, office, and occasional field settings. While safety protocols are strictly followed, this role may involve exposure to contagious environments.
