The Education Commission for the Catholic Diocese of Zomba works side by side with the Government of Malawi in providing education to the nation. Education is the backbone for the socio-economic development of a nation and has a direct impact on literacy and behaviour. The Commission promotes inclusive education for all. We know education is a right to each and every individual. The Commission therefore seeks to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual for the following vacant position.
Job Title: Projects Officer.
Reports to: Education Coordinator
Key responsibilities of this position will include:

To have supportive supervisions with all schools i.e. Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Technical Colleges under Zomba Diocese.

Ensure that our Schools have the Catholic identity, clear school boundaries, registration certificates, and are in the process of getting Title Deeds for the land in cooperation with the parish Priests.

Ensure that our Secondary Schools have School Management Committees (SMC), Parents-Teachers Associations (PTA).
-
From the school’s familiarisation, work out relevant project proposals to support the schools so that they can serve the learners better.

Assist the coordinator to make sure that Education Policy for the Diocese is known by all schools.

Shake up all schools including Open Secondary Schools to remit their contributions to the commission in time to cater for its operations.

Work with the Resource Mobilisation Team in the Directorate so as to find ways to make use of available opportunities from the donor community through relevant project proposals.

To be responsible for implementing projects that have been funded to ensure that they are fully accounted for to the satisfaction of the donor.

To support the education coordinator to plan and administer entrance examinations.

To report to the Education Coordinator all issues that require his attention.

Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Skills and Abilities

Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and know when to consult

Honest, energetic, good communication skills, and self-motivated

Ability to ride a motor bike
Qualifications and Experience Required

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education
-
A minimum of three years’ teaching experience
-
Computer literacy
-
Must possess a valid Motorcycle Driving License.
