VACANCY FOR THE POST OF PROJECTS CONSULTANT (ON CONTRACT)
Africa Evangelical Church (Malawi), a Christian denomination and registered trustee in Malawi, through its Projects Department, wishes to fill the post of Projects Consultant on a six-month contract with a possibility of renewal; and therefore invites applications from suitably qualified persons. The post is tenable at its Headquarters in Blantyre.
Key responsibilities
- Working under the supervision and guidance of the Projects Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential support to achieve success in projects under scope; specifically a school establishment project
- Formulate project idea and draft proposal
- Develop and implement a Resource Mobilisation Strategy
- Organize project meetings to review progress and to discuss future steps
- Maintain in good order all documents which track progress
- Identify any potential issues or risks that could hinder progress of the project, and work to identify potential solutions
- Manage the project schedules to ensure project tasks are being delivered timely
Skills and Competencies
- An analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-pace work environment
- A team player with a high level of self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and project scheduling computer application
- Experience in budget and financial management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- He/she must be a Christian
Qualification and Experience
The desired candidate must possess the following minimum key qualifications and experience
- Diploma in Project Management or related field (those with a Bachelor’s degree will have an added advantage)
- At least 5 years of project design and management experience
