Reporting to: Managing Director
Hours: Full-time – 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

The Project Analyst will serve as an important member of our team in ensuring the smooth functioning of our firm’s operations and contributing to its overall success. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including overseeing project management, office operations, human resources, and representational duties. Working closely with the Managing Director, He/she will strategize, plan, and manage projects to promote sustainable development, while also developing improved business functionality that increases profits and efficiency. Additionally, the Project Analyst will implement improved operational measures and policies, ensuring that our firm operates at the highest level of effectiveness and productivity. Maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, the Project Analyst will play a key role in advancing our firm’s mission and objectives.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

The role allocation for the Project Analyst is as follows: 40% technical tasks covering strategic planning and project management, 40% dedicated to impact assessments, and 20% for operational and management support duties.

Technical Responsibilities (40%)

  • Strategically map out, plan, and manage projects to promote sustainable development.
  • Develop improved business functionality that increases profits and efficiency.
  • Implement improved operational measures and policies.
  • Analyse and maintain operational data.
  • Track and maintain budgets of operational costs.
  • Coordinate the purchase of raw materials and supplies and monitor product inventory.

Impact Assessment Responsibilities (40%):

  • Conduct Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) for proposed projects.
  • Develop Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) based on assessment findings.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather input and feedback during impact assessment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental and social regulations and standards.

Operational and Management Support (20%):

  • Assist in the management of office operations and human resources.
  • Oversee and direct daily company administrative processes and procedures.
  • Set goals for staff, monitor their progress, and conduct frequent performance reviews.
  • Represent the company at various conferences and activities as directed by the employer.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
  • Assist the Managing Director with administrative functions as directed.
  • Report to and assist the Managing Director in daily tasks and duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Science, Environmental Science, or related field with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess technical gaps and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Experience and ability to provide technical guidance and support to achieve objectives.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and budget management.
  • Knowledge of environmental and social assessments and regulatory compliance is desirable.
