Background

Light of Hope is a not for profit making non-governmental Organization (NGO), whose aim is to build the capacity of youths, women and girls to become self-reliant in addressing socio- economic issues affecting them. The organization was established in 2017 and registered with the Government of Malawi in 2019. LHO further advances the needs, interest and rights of children, youths, women and other vulnerable groups to promote and protect their rights.

Light of Hope Organisation is currently calling for applications from suitably qualified person to join the organization as an intern.

POSITION: PROJECT OFFICER (INTERN)
REPORTING TO: PROGRAMS MANAGER
DUTY STATION: RUMPHI

INTERN JOB SUMMARY

Light of Hope Organisation is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the organisation as an Intern. In this role, the intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to a variety of projects that the organisation is implementing. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals and learn key skills that will help him/her to succeed in his/her future career.

SPECIFIC TASKS

  • Facilitating sessions in various communities.
  • Assist in planning and research materials; create and maintain PowerPoint presentations.
  • Compiling institution reports
  • Taking minutes and memos during meetings and submit to the programs manager.
  • Manage organisation documents and files.
  • Manage databases and input information, data and records

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Rural and Community Development,
    Public Health, Community Health Nursing or any other related field.
  • Able to deliver quality results under intense pressure
  • Public speaking and Advocacy Skills
  • Excellent command of written and oral English and local languages
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft office suite (word, excel, and power point)
  • Self-directed and able to work effectively with minimum supervision Energetic and eager to tackle new projects ideas
