Our client in the construction industry is looking for the above manager to be based in Lilongwe, Malawi or alternative location approved by the organisation. He/she will be responsible for the construction of single-story structures for occupation or similar.
Responsibilities
– Decision making on extensive engineering activities of the project
– Initiate and maintain contact with key engineers, subcontractors and local authority officials.
– Negotiate contracts.
– Determine project objectives and requirements.
– Establish a timeline for completion of the project at various stages.
– Organise planned activities.
– Coordinate resources and personnel on multiple work sites.
– Monitor project performance
– Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and quality assurance.
Minimum Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar.
– MBA would be an added advantage.
– Minimum of 15 years’ progressive responsibility in their professional experience.
– Experience dealing with construction and logistics in a rural environment would be an added advantage.
– Good negotiation abilities.
