SOLICITATION FOR USAID PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (ECONOMIC GROWTH)
OFFICE OF SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH (OSEG)
This position is based in Lilongwe and is open to Qualified Malawian Citizens.

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is located in the Sustainable Economic Growth Office at USAID/Malawi, Lilongwe. The incumbent is expected to provide leadership in activity development, implementation and monitoring as well as the Mission’s COR/AOR for Intermediate Results under Development Objective 2: Sustainable Livelihoods Improved. This is a complex DO that requires close and constant coordination with a number of USAID implementing partners. He/she is also expected to develop an extensive range of professional contacts and policy dialogue with senior government officials, NGO community, civic organizations, the private sector, and other agriculture sector donors. May on occasion serve as acting Team Leader in the absence of the Team Leader.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Education: Minimum of master’s degree in Agriculture
- Prior Work Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in agriculture (designing, implementing and monitoring production, policies and programs).
- Language Proficiency: Level IV English and Level IV Chichewa
EVALUATION AND SELECTION FACTORS
After an initial application screening, the best qualified applicants may be invited for a written examination and to an oral interview.
The incumbent should have specialist knowledge of-Malawi agriculture (production, policies, programs and key policy makers). levant to Malawi.
Knowledge of linkages between agriculture, food security, climate change, and nutrition.
The incumbent must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills to be able to evaluate, review and summarize proposals, documents and reports. Ability to brief/engage senior government officials, other donors, NGOs and civil society on agriculture policy issues.

Salary range: $30,074- $46,622 (basic salary, paid in local currency Kwacha at the prevailing exchange rate), equivalent to FSN-11. In accordance with AIDAR Appendix J and the Local Compensation Plan of United States Mission, Malawi (Effective February 26, 2023). Final compensation will be negotiated within the listed market value.
