Rays of Hope Ministries is a non-profit, Christian organization that collaborates with the Malawi Government to produce morally responsible and youthful leaders through educational, spiritual, nutritional, and entrepreneurial programs in Blantyre, Zomba, Thyolo, Ntcheu, Mwanza, Neno, Chikwawa, Nsanje, Dowa, Kasungu and Lilongwe. The organization is going through a steep growth trajectory taking it to various districts in Malawi. This reality demands the addition of team members to fully support the growth as we continue to provide quality services to our communities. To that end, we seek to recruit for the following positions:
Programs Coordinator
Reports to: Programs Manager
Location: BlantyreKey Areas of Accountability
1. Lead in the inception of programs’ activities including introducing the projects to the key district government partners/offices and at DEC and ADC levels.
2. Lead, coordinate, and or monitor program officers and other key stakeholders with technical thoughtfulness making sure that targets and set expected results are met.
3. Work closely with finance to prepare budgets beforehand and procure needed resources for the smooth implementation of the programs and projects.
4. Collaborate and network with other partners in the field of our expertise for better comprehensive impact.
5. Establish, maintain, and collaborate with the District Education Manager (DEM)’s Office, PEAs, other NGOs and relevant stakeholders at district and community levels to ensure maximum sustainable coordination efforts
6. Organize in-service trainings for teachers in collaboration with PEAs and the DEM.
7. Facilitate community mobilization meetings through PTAs, SMCs and other community structures
8. Identify, document, and disseminate program lessons learned, case studies and best practices through program review meetings, district coordination meetings, partner collaboration/joint meetings, as well as other relevant stakeholders fora at the district level.
9. Contribute to establishing feedback mechanisms to mainstream accountability across the programs.
10. Run regular field visits to implement, monitor, and assess the implementation; take on necessary corrections to ensure that the theory of change is followed.
11. Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual program/project reports.12. Represent the Rays of Hope at relevant forums as requested by Rays of Hope leadership at relevant levels.
13. In collaboration with the MEAL Coordinator and the Officer and Primary Education Advisors, collect and document relevant project data, lessons learnt and best practices.
14.Submit, in consultation with the Executive Director, reports to relevant district partners i.e. DPD, DEM
Oversight
The Programs Coordinator has a direct supervision role to the program/
projects officers(s).
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in the field of Education or Project
Management.
• 5 – 7 years relevant working experience in similar job profile
• Proven ability in successfully leading education projects
Other Essential Attributes
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Budgeting and resource management experience.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in working with local communities and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning
(MEAL) frameworks.
