TITLE: Program Coordinator: Health

ROLE PURPOSE

The major responsibility of the Program Coordinator: Health is to provide oversight and management of Health and Nutrition, and other cross-cutting health programming themes. The role will oversee Njira Impacts’ health program and support the Program Officers for HIV and AIDS & SRHR, and MNCH and Nutrition.

SCOPE OF ROLE

• Provide strategic leadership in health and nutrition programing focusing on MNCH and SRHR and HIV
• Support resource mobilization and health-focused business development
• Provide policy alignment on MNCH, HIV and AIDS, SRHR, and Nutrition
• Stakeholder engagement and mobilization for Njira Impact health programing.
• Provide mentorship to staff, CHWs and partner health facilities.
• Engage health facilities on resources, supplies, data and planning for outreach clinics.
• Provide program advice to management on new strategies, policies and national guidelines on thematic health focus.

Reports to: Program Manager.

Qualifications:

• Degree in nursing of clinical medicine
• Five or more years’ experience in health program design, including HIV and AIDS, SRHR, MNCH, and nutrition
• Experience in health systems strengthening
• Outstanding knowledge of essential health packages for Malawi
• Practical knowledge of key health policies, strategic frameworks, and guidelines
• Strong computer, data analysis, and presentation skills
• Proven knowledge of project design, planning, implementation, and reporting.
• Knowledge of district health systems structures and Min of health coordination mechanisms
