This Opportunity

The Program Assistant is a role that supports one of several TIENI technical teams. This position is generally responsible for managing project documentation, files, and records. The Program Assistant may also be responsible for taking meeting notes, arranging staff travel, completing various forms and requests for team members, and other administrative and management functions as required.

This Opportunity

The Program Assistant is a role that supports one of several TIENI technical teams. This position is generally responsible for managing project documentation, files, and records. The Program Assistant may also be responsible for taking meeting notes, arranging staff travel, completing various forms and requests for team members, and other administrative and management functions as required.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Assist with the development and implementation a communications plan that captures and communicates project results, successes, and lessons learned.
Help develop and manage TIENI communication products, both content and channel.
Supports the preparation of high-level site visits. This includes preparing the scene setters, briefing books, and other external communication pieces related to a visit.
Monitors local news outlets for stories related to TIENI.
Looks for ways to share project successes more broadly.
Participates in staff and sub-grantee communications training.
Provides communications technical assistance to TIENI subgrantees.
Key Competencies Required

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or another relevant field.
At least 3-5 years’ of communications experience. Experience working on health projects strongly preferred.
Knowledge of USAID’s communications requirements, this includes branding and marking plus.
Experience with social media platforms. As well as other popular communication outlets in Malawi.
Willingness to travel within Malawi.
