Qualifications

A. PhD/MA – Drama / Theatre Studies / Performance Studies, Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles/Book Chapters and Engagement in Professional Theatre Productions as Technical Designer

B. Professor/ Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Technical Theatre PhD/MA) – Drama / Theatre Studies / Performance Studies, Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles/Book Chapters and Engagement in Professional Theatre Productions as Costume Designer and Make Up artist.

Duties

1. Teaching, setting and timely marking examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in drama and theatre courses
2. Conceptualisation and implementation of practical productions and projects for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in drama and theatre studies
3. Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate practical projects
4. Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research
5. Mentoring and tutoring of students
6. Conceptualisation and implementation of outreach programmes with other staff members
7. Creation of links with industry both locally and internationally for collaborations in projects, research work and exchange programmes for students and other staff members
8. Resource mobilisation for academic, scholarly and outreach activities in the department
9. Scholarly peer-reviewed publications for the advancement of oneself and the profile of the Department, the school and the University
10. Creation of plans for regional and international invitations to give talks or present works at other institutions of high learning and the drama and theatre industry
11. To take up tasks and duties as assigned by the Head of Department, the Executive Dean, and the Vice Chancellor.
12. Additionally, Senior Lecturers, Associate Professors and Professors, offer academic leadership through innovations
13. To take leadership or participate in inter-disciplinary, and multi-disciplinary research groups for research and joint publications
14. To be an ambassador for the department, the school and the university
