ADMARC Limited Company was established as Statutory Corporation in 1971 under Chapter 67.03 of the Laws of Malawi. The Act was repealed in 2003. Following that, ADMARC was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company, under the Companies Act. The repeal saw ADMARC Limited becoming a non-subverted Statutory Corporation, but with Government being a major shareholder with up to 99% shares.

The Board of Directors of ADMARC Ltd resolved to overhaul ADMARC Ltd by Corporate restructuring. The Board approved new structures for ADMARC Ltd with new skills sets to take the new ADMARC forward. All employees were retrenched.

ADMARC Limited, a Statutory Corporation in Agricultural Marketing is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following executive position:

Procurement and Asset Disposal Manager
reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (Grade AL 3 based at Head Office)

Purpose of the Job

To coordinate and efficiently administer all designated procurement activities of AL in compliance with the legal requirements while adopting best practices in procurement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Developing, implementing and monitoring procurement plans.
  2. Reviewing company’s procurement policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
  3. Interpreting procurement policies and regulations.
  4. Advising management on procurement issues.
  5. Coordinating the closing and opening of bid documents.
  6. Preparing minutes and reports for Procurement committee and the Office of Public procurement.
  7. Preparing contract documents.
  8. Providing guidance and/or lead in the preparation of bid documents.
  9. Ensuring that the procurement process and procedures in place are in accordance with guidelines and regulations, prescribed by the Public Procurement Act.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) from a recognized institution plus a professional qualification.
  • Master’s Degree in Procurement or Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) from a recognized institution plus a professional qualification.
  • Five (5) years relevant experience in procurement.
