Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawian candidates to fill the following vacant posts existing at Mwanza District Council.
Post: Principal Education Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Mwanza District Council
Duties
1. Coordination and controlling activities of the primary school administration section
2. Monitoring the supply of teaching and learning materials throughout the assembly
3. Ensuring implementation of all the government plans for education
4. Providing feedback to planning directorate on success and failures of implementation of government plans for education
5. Participation in the formulation of policy and operational mandates for the primary schools
6. Scrutinizing all estimates submitted by primary schools and consolidating these for all primary schools in the assembly
7. Studying trends in discipline cases in primary schools, making appropriate inferences and recommending solutions and changes in policy
8. Preparing project proposals for both internal and external funding
9. Preparing policy alternatives for consolidation by the assembly on the systematic and balanced development of primary schools
10. Advising the Chief education officer on imbalances, shortfalls and needs in primary schools.
Qualifications
Applicants must be holders’ of a Degree in Education with a minimum experience of 6 years’ at Grade I/M6 or serving Officers at Grade H/M5 in the local authorities.
