Post: Principal Broadcasting Officer
Grade: G/P7
Responsible to: Chief Broadcasting Officer
Main Purpose of the Job
To manage operations of day to day running of Parliament Television and Radio.
Duties of the Post
a) Conducts daily editorial meetings;
b) Assigns work to officers by producing work schedules;
c) Makes administrative arrangement for coverage;
d) Vets content to test suitability and alignment to editorial guidelines and policies of the two media;
e) Considers various reports before submission to Management for guidance;
f) Ensures validity of broadcasting licences;
g) Maintains report for regulatory authorities; and,
h) Appraises, supervises and develops or mentors staff under his/her charge.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in any field with at least three (3) years’ experience in journalism, broadcast and media production work. Those with Parliamentary work experience will have an added advantage.
