OVERVIEW
PRIMARY INSPECTOR OF SCHOOLS
Post: Primary School Inspector
Salary: Grade H salary scale segment
Location: All District Education Offices
Responsible to: Chief Education Officer/DEYS.
DUTIES
- Inspect primary schools in the district;
- Compile inspection reports and make recommendations for improvement in the delivery of primary education services;
- Act as facilitator and guide to primary school teachers in the teaching and learning process;
- Identify common deficiencies in knowledge and skills of teachers and head teachers in the district and recommend for professional development activities to address the deficiencies;
- Participate in the development and revision of the primary school curriculum;
- Inspect private primary education establishments and recommend to Ministry of Education for licencing;
- Prepare estimates for the district quality assurance activities;
- Identify and share good practices among teachers and schools in the district;
- Enforce the provisions of the Education Act.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be in possess a minimum of T2 Certificate.
EXPERIENCE
Applicants should be serving Teachers with at least 8 years’ experience as a teacher or an education administrator at primary level. Serving accredited inspectors are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be registered and licensed teachers by the Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM).
