Essential Job Functions
- Present radio programmes and engage with the audience.
- Conduct interviews with guests and listeners.
- Select and play music and commercials.
- Determine appropriate news and information for broadcast.
- Prepare and deliver newscasts on-air.
- Write and edit news scripts as needed.
Skills Required
- Clear communication and engaging voice to captivate the audience.
- Effective questioning and active listening to connect with guests and listeners.
- Understanding of current events and ability to evaluate relevant news stories.
- Strong writing skills to create and edit clear and engaging news scripts.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze information effectively.
- Proficiency in operating broadcasting equipment and understanding audio quality.
- Strong relationship-building skills to connect with guests and the audience.
- Effective organization to manage live broadcasts and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to present news in Chisena, Chichewa, and English
- Ability to work on tight schedule
- Ability to work in a team
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Journalism from any recognized institutions.
Experience:
- Proven experience in news editing, including familiarity with radio broadcasting standards.
- Well conversant with Chisena, English, and Chichewa languages.
