
NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA)
The Non-Governmental Organizations Regulatory Authority (NGORA) is a statutory Corporation mandated to register and regulate operations of Non-Governmental organizations in Malawi. To deliver on its core mandate, the institution is now looking for dynamic and well versed individuals to fill the following seven (7) middle level staff posts:
JOB TITLE: PR AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT OFFICER (1)
Grade: NG 5
Location: Head Office
Directorate: Corporate Services
Reporting to: Director of Corporate Services
Supervision to: None
Job Purpose
To provide communication and public relations services
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Identify and prioritize key stakeholders i.e. media, government, NGOs, and the community
- Regularly communicate with stakeholders to cultivate and maintain strong relationships
2. Media Relations
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists
- Prepare and distribute press releases, statements, and media kits
- Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews
- Develop crisis communication plans and handle public relations during crises
3. Content creation
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including articles and social media updates
- Manage NGORA’s social media presence
4. Events Management
- Plan and organize events such as conferences, launches, and community engagement
- Ensure media attendance and coverage at events
5. Internal Communications
- Facilitate effective internal communication to ensure employees are informed and engaged
- Develop and distribute internal communication i.e. announcements Location and updates
6. Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and analyze media coverage, stakeholder feedback, and public views
- Prepare reports
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
a. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Proficiency in PR tools, social media, and content management platforms
b. 2 Years’ Experience in relevant work
