POSITION: PASTRY CHEF

We’re looking for a passionate, customer-focused Pastry Chef to join our team!

LOCATION: MANGOCHI, MALAWI

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS

· Completing a culinary arts program with a focus on baking and pastry arts will be a solid foundation.

· Specialized certifications from a recognized culinary institution is essential.

· Mastery in various baking techniques, including working with dough, sugar art, and chocolate.

· An artistic eye for designing and decorating pastries.

· Attentive to detail and precise in baking, as even small deviations can affect the final product.

· Hands-on experience in a professional kitchen under the guidance of experienced pastry chefs will be more advantage.

EXPERIENCE

· Previous work experience in bakeries, hotels, or restaurants can be invaluable.

· A portfolio of your creations must be available to showcase your skills when required.

SOFT SKILLS

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

· Clear communication skills in English for working with superiors, team members and clients.

· A genuine love for baking and a desire to continuously learn and innovate.

· Understanding the business side of running a pastry and bakery, such as cost control, health and safety and customer service.
