Tingathe is a non-governmental organization that partners with peri-urban communities to build wealth that sticks. We work with young people, community leaders, women in small businesses, and school-going children to empower them with various skills that enable them to thrive in their communities. Our vision is to create a society where the most vulnerable are equipped to transition out of poverty, build resilience, invest, and thrive. We have a Centre in Area 56 that serves as the main hub for our work. It hosts training programs, greenhouses, an events garden, and facilities for making bricks.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Office Superintendent to help run the daily activities at the Tingathe Centre and take care of our grounds, greenhouses, and facilities.
Main Responsibilities
The Office Superintendent will oversee:
- General caretaking of Tingathe Centre surroundings
- Management of the events, garden, and trees
- Watering and cleanliness of the grounds
- Ensure a consistent and adequate water supply for all facilities
- Promptly report any maintenance issues related to water systems
- Oversee plant care, fertilization, and irrigation
- Manage greenhouse inventory and maintain records
- Ensure greenhouse equipment is in good working condition
- Monitor daily production of interlocking bricks
- Oversee the proper care and curing of produced bricks
- Track materials used and ensure production resources are well-managed
- Maintain and supervise brick-making equipment
Working Hours
The role requires full-time presence at the Centre during regular working hours (Monday to Friday), with flexibility for occasional weekend work when needed.
Remuneration
This position attracts a gross monthly salary of K400,000.00, inclusive of both employer and employee pension contributions. Net salary is after deductions for PAYE tax, 1% TEVET levy, pension, and staff social welfare. Salary is paid at the end of each month
