b) ODeL Coordinator
Reporting to the Director of Academics, Research and Consultancy Services, the ODeL Coordinator
shall provide Knowledge and Specialist skills in online learning in order to ensure that the University
meets its objectives. It entails development of plans and coordination to ensure effective implementation of ODeL course delivery and initiatives as well as ensuring administrative support services to the core functions of teaching and learning, research consulting and outreach operations of the University as a whole.
The duties and responsibilities of the ODeL Coordinator shall include:
- Organizing initiatives for online programs and identifying trends in online learning;
- Working with faculty and administrative professionals in various departments to integrate distance learning options across all degree programs, and providing training for online instructors;
- Developing distance learning policies and best practices in conjunction with Deans of Faculties;
- Assessing and analyzing current online programs and initiatives;
- Coordinating instructional designs with an understanding of best practices for distance learning;
- Work with other University departments to support teachers delivering online coursework from the planning to the assessment phase.
Qualification and work experience
- A minimum of Master’s Degree in a discipline appropriate to the management of learning in higher education.
- At least three years of experience in a similar position.
