VACANCY

St Andrews Community Hospital is a non-profit making institution under the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi. The Hospital is a member of the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). It offers inpatient and outpatient services. St Andrews Community Hospital would like to recruit suitably qualified personnel to fill the following vacant positions with immediate effect:

 

JOB POSITION:  NURSE MIDWIFE TECHNICIANS (Grade K) (4 Positions)

RESPONSIBLE TO: HOSPITAL MATRON

 

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Must have a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from an accredited and recognized institution
  2. Must be registered and current with Nurses and Midwife’s Council
  3. Must have a minimum of 2 Years work experience

 

Required knowledge, skills and attributes

  1. Must be a self-starter
  2. Ability to work under pressure and with minimum/no supervision
  3. Honest and trustworthy
  4. Ability to work to meet the datelines on assignments
  5. Team player

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nursing care using the nursing/midwifery process
  • Perform activities of daily living for the patient’s 24hours/day
  • Observe patients’ condition and progress
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient cares
  • Use appropriate common skills during nursing care
  • Administer medication and treatment to patients and clients
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of patients through application of principles of prevention of deformities, range of motion exercise and body alignment
  • Adhere to continuous professional development
  • Document and maintain accurate records of all nursing care activities performed
  • Building therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians, and fellow health workers.
