VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

St. Mary’s Community Hospital is looking for mature, dynamic, and self-starting person(s) to take up the following positions:

1.    Clinical Technician (Grade K)

2.    Nurse Midwife Technician (Grade K)

3.    Accountant (Grade I)

LOCATION: MANGOCHI

2.    POSITION: NURSE MIDWIFE TECHNICIAN GRADE K (1)

REPORTING TO: Nursing Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse and Midwife Technician promotes and restores patients’ health through the provision of quality nursing care.

Full-time position with potential for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting patient assessment, plan patient care, monitoring and evaluation of patients
  • Collaborates with other health workers in meeting specific needs of the patients.
  • Adhere to standard precautions of infection prevention and control practices.
  • Carrying out various nursing procedures
  • Drug administration
  • Health education to patients and guardians (providing information/counselling/health talks)
  • Maintains professional code of conduct at all times.
  • Develops ward/department policies in consultation with other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Monitors that all health workers comply with quality standards of care
  • Providing pre and post-operative care
  • Participate in Ward rounds

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least a diploma in nursing & midwifery from a recognized institution.
  • Registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
  • ART providers will have an added advantage.
  • At least two years working experience in a hospital or clinic.
