Job Description

1 year fixed term contract

JCE with minimum of one-year experience working in a hospital /clinical settings or 5 years’ experience in a similar position

Clear understanding of HIV/AIDS

Housekeeping skills

Understanding of infection prevention measures

1-year experience in similar position

Oral and written communication skills in English

Clinical Support

· Sterilising and packing VMMC instruments sets on daily basis

· Setting out the operating areas to ensure that all required instruments and supplies are available

· Wash and decontaminate soiled lined and other theatre equipment on daily basis

· Dispose any medical waste on a daily basis and according to guidelines

House keeping and hygiene sevices

  • Ensure that all offices, waiting areas, bathrooms and entrances rooms on site are kept clean daily (According to priority areas) Dusting of furniture and blinds as well as cleaning of windows and doors
  • Emptying of rubbish bins daily
  • Periodic cleaning of the refrigerator, microwave oven etc.
  • Use of colour coded mops and cloths for cleaning different areas to prevent cross infection
  • Washing of office crockery and cutlery
  • Preparations and serving of refreshments as when there are visitors
  • Ordering of materials and equipment as the need arise

General duties

· Ordering of groceries for the site

· Assist with photocopying of documents when requested

· Stock control and monitoring for all chemicals and materials used

· Emptying of the shredder as and when necessary
