Applications are invited from highly qualified, self-motivated, and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position in the Sales and Marketing Department at Castel Malawi Limited (CML). The position is tenable at the CML Head Office in Blantyre.

Mobility

The position requires 50% movement across the country.

Purpose of the Job

The position exists to:

  • To provide overall leadership of the company sales force to support the business strategy and ambition.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Focus

  • Drive the profitable growth for Castel Malawi Limited products through efficient and effective execution of the Commercial Strategy.
  • Manage the relationships with other internal departments (production, planning, procurement, logistics, finance, and marketing to ensure a successful execution of the Sales Strategy.
  • Establish professional and productive customer relationships, negotiate and close agreements.
  • Provide Leadership and management of the Sales team, design and align people KPIs to the overall company strategy.

Management Focus:

  • Elaborate, define and propose Sales Objsectives, strategies and action plans to drive sales volumes and revenue growth and win market share.
  • Drive the distribution model within the sales team.
  • Communicate monthly sales objectives for each region and monitor execution.
  • Define the Trade Execution requirements i.e. visits, numeric distribution, visibility, price communication and compliance.
  • Coach, motivate and animate the Sales Force of the company.
  • Develop promotional actions in liaison with the Regional Sales Managers to
    stimulate sales volumes.
  • Monitor customer accounts balances in terms pf payment time, as well as clearing outstanding debts.
  • Observe the market trends and provide the information needed to redefine sales strategies.
  • Provide the necessary National Sales reports timely, do analysis and prepare proper action plans from the reports.

Administrative Focus

  • Manage leave utilization and plans for the Sales Team.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews, evaluation and provide the remedial action plans.
  • Ensure that the sales team has the proper tools of trade.
  • Manage departmental expenditures and budgets.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Postgraduate Degree in Business, or Econimics or any related field or Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Sales plus 5 years experience in the FMCG Industry.
  • Good understanding of sales management, selling steps and processes in the FMCG.
