Advertisement for the role of National Education Programme Manager

The Blantyre SPCA is a Malawian NGO that works in collaboration with international charities, such
as Mission Rabies and WVS, towards the elimination of dog bite-transmitted human rabies in Malawi.
We do this by running canine rabies mass vaccination campaigns, rabies surveillance, and education.
We are a small but passionate NGO who have successfully implemented this approach to rabies elimination across 10 districts in Southern Malawi and have exciting opportunities to expand our work. We are looking for a hard-working and passionate individual to manage and oversee our school
education programme and develop campaigns across multiple channels to raise awareness of the
disease, increase vaccination coverage and share information that can save lives.

Based in Blantyre or Zomba, you will work under the direction of the Country Director and Global
Education Programme Director.

This is a full-time role.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in Project Management, preferably in an Animal Welfare, Public Health and/or
    international development capacity.
  • Qualified to degree level or with a relevant recognised qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in managing diverse teams in challenging environments.
  • A strong team player.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • A passion for animal welfare
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability and willingness to be flexible and work irregular hours, including evenings and
    weekends occasionally when the charity requires.
  • Proficiency in English and Chichewa
  • A full drivers’ licence.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Education Development or classroom teaching.
  • Experience of delivering public health communication campaigns – particularly aimed at
    increasing rates of vaccination.
  • Degree in education, public health, conservation welfare or animal health related sciences.
  • Experience in the charity sector.
