Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill vacant positions at National Bus Company Limited tenable at its head office in Blantyre. Candidates should be dedicated and hardworking and ready to work during odd hours. Very attractive package awaits the most successful candidates in the following advertised position.
1. GENERAL MANAGER
The successful candidate should demonstrate sound business acumen in the transportation industry. He or She should show ability to manage and have leadership skills with at least three years minimum hands-on experience.
Reporting to the Chairman and Managing Director.
Qualifications and experience:
- Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with a bias in Marketing, Economics or Business Development with at least three years’ experience in a transportation related industry at a senior position.
- Those with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management with more than five years’ experience in similar position will be considered.
- Have experience and be well versed with passenger bus services transport systems
- Be mature, visionary leader, self-starter, committed to work, well-motivated individual and willing to work odd and long hours
- Computer knowledge including SAGE LINE 50 is a must
2. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS (2 POSTS)
Reporting to the workshop manager and responsible for repairs of vehicles.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Must have a proven experience and expertise in both petrol and diesel engine (light and heavy vehicles) maintenance
- Should have a minimum of MVM grade 1 certificate (trade Test)
- Should have a diploma in motor vehicle systems (city and guilds)
3. AUTO ELECTRICIAN (2 POSTS)
Reporting to the workshop manager and responsible for repairs of vehicles.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Must have at least 3 years hands on experience and expertise in a busy organisation
- Must have worked on various types of vehicles including buses in their respective fields on both petrol and diesel engine (light and heavy vehicles) maintenance
- Those with experience in transport industry will have an added advantage
- Should have a minimum of grade 1 certificate (trade Test)
- Or should have a diploma in auto- electrical and electrician (electrical systems city and guilds)
