The University of Livingstonia (UNILIA) is a faith-based institution of higher learning in Malawi. In its drive to expand its academic programmes, it is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant positions tenable at its constituent colleges as follows;

Lecturer in General Agriculture (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in General Agriculture or related field obtained from an accredited institution. The candidates should be able to teach a diversity of courses including Farm Business Management, Household Financing, Project Management, Farm Power and Machinery, Crop Processing and Storage Technology, Plant Breeding, and Pasture and Range Management. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

This position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Social Sciences or Development Studies (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Development or Social Sciences or related field obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

This position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

 

Lecturer in Computer Engineering or Sciences (5 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Sciences obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

The position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Human Rights (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Human Rights obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Ekwendeni College, Ekwendeni.

Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (3 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Mathematics or Statistics (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Accountancy (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or its equivalent obtained from an accredited institution. Those with ACCA or CIMA in addition to master’s degree will have an added advantage. This position is tenable at Kaning’ina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

Lecturer in Communication and Media Studies (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies or Mass Communication or Development Communication obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaning’ina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

 

Lecturer in Environmental Management (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Environmental Management or Sciences or related field obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

This position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

 

Lecturer in Chemistry (3 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field obtained from an accredited institution. Those with teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

The position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus, and at Kaning’ina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

Lecturer in Physics (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Physics or related field obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

The position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus and at Kaning’ina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

Lecturer in Biology (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Biology or related field obtained from an accredited institution. The candidates should be able to teach General Biology, Fish Biology, Freshwater Biology, Genetics and Evolution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaning’ina College, Muzu City Campus, and at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Theology (3 positions)
Applicants should possess a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Theology or Theology and Development, or Gender or related field. Those with teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage: The position is tenable at Ekwendeni College, Ekwendeni.

Lecturer in English or Communication (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in English or related field obtained from an accredited institution. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. This position is tenable at Ekwendeni College, Ekwendeni.

Lecturer in Education (Testing and Measurements) (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Testing and Measurements or related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. This position is tenable at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

 

Lecturer in Project Management (2 positions)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Project Management or related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. This position is tenable at Ekwendeni College, Ekwendeni.

Lecturer in Agribusiness (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Agribusiness or related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaningina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

Lecturer in Horticulture (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Horticulture or related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaningïna College, Mzuzu City Campus, and at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Plant Pathology (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology or related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaningïna College, Mzuzu City Campus, and at Laws College, Livingstonia Campus.

Lecturer in Demography and Population Dynamics (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Demography and Population Dynamics related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaning’ina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

Lecturer in Sociology and or Psychology (1 position)
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Political Economy related field. Those with PhD and teaching experience at tertiary level will have an added advantage. The position is tenable at Kaning’ina College, Mzuzu City Campus.

Tenure and Remuneration
The University has an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. All positions are established and successful candidates shall be employed on an open term basis and shall be expected to conduct themselves in line with the Christian values and ethics of the University.
