1.Post: Hotel Manager (1)

Responsible to: Human Resources Manager

Responsible for: Head Chef; Housekeeping Supervisor; Food and Beverages Supervisor; Front Office Supervisor

Job Purpose: To oversee hotel operations

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Developing operational plans and strategies.
  2. Assessing, monitoring and evaluating performance of the hotel targets.
  3. Producing financial and operational reports.
  4. Handling complex queries.
  5. Up-selling hotel products.
  6. Supervising hotel staff.
  7. Reporting unusual activities.
  8. Preparing annual budget for the hotel.
  9. Planning work schedules for the staff.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Hospitality and tourism management
  • 3 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Willing to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills.

 

2. Post: Food and Beverage Supervisor (1)

Reporting to: Hotel Manager

Responsible for: Waiters/waitress, bar tender, chef.

Job Purpose: To ensure quality service of food and beverages.

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Preparing duty roster for restaurant and bar staff.
  2. Liaising with kitchen staff on functions and banquets.
  3. Keeping the restaurant and bar tidy.
  4. Ordering supplies from stores.
  5. Implementing hotel standards operating procedures.
  6. Carrying out spot checks in the bar and restaurant.
  7. Compiling and submitting reports.
  8. Up-selling hotel products and services.
  9. Serving food and beverages.
  10. Inducting new employees in the restaurant and bar.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Diploma in hospitality and tourism management
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good supervisory skills.

 

3. Post: Accountant (1)

Reporting to: Managing Director

Responsible for: Cashiers

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assessing business performance of the company.
  • Managing accounts transactions.
  • Provide data to support decision-making.
  • Collection of debts.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  • Prepare and ensuring that financial information is up to date.
  • Maintaining books and accounts.
  • Preparing pay-roll monthly.

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma in Accounting or finance from a recognized institution by NCHE.
  • 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Willing to work under pressure and meet deadline.

 

4. Post: House keeper (6)

Responsibility to: Housekeeping Supervisor

Responsible for: Laundry Assistant

Job Purpose: To ensure general cleanliness of room, conference halls and public areas

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Cleaning rooms, conference halls and public areas.
  2. Pressing guest’s laundry.
  3. Receiving guests’ queries.
  4. Decorating rooms.
  5. Up-selling hotel product and services.
  6. Reporting lost but guest properties.
  7. Reporting unusual activities.
  8. Carrying out tu down services (preparing the room for beds)

 

Qualification and experience

  • Malawi Secondary Certificate of Education (MSCE) plus a certificate in Accommodation services.

 

5. Post: Waiter/waitress (7)

Reporting to: Food and Beverage Supervisor

Job Purpose: To ensure quality service of food and beverages.

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Serving food and beverages.
  2. Taking food and beverages orders.
  3. Billing customers.
  4. Receiving and receipting cash.
  5. Cleaning restaurant and bar equipment.
  6. Setting the restaurant before use.
  7. Up-selling hotel products and services.
  8. Handling customer complaints.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Malawi School Certification of Education (MSCE) and certificate in food and beverages services.

 

6. Post: Cleaner (1)

Responsible to: Hotel Manager

Job Purpose: To provide landscaping and cleaning services

Key Responsibilities/ Duties

  1. Tendering flower beds and vegetable garden.
  2. Pruning, mowing, and planting vegetation.
  3. Ensuring that the surrounding is clean at all times.
  4. Ensuring that all necessary tools for cleaning are available at all times.
  5. Ensuring that the bar and restaurants’ wash rooms are clean at all times.
  6. Removing all trash.
  7. Helping the pool attendant in cleaning the chairs at the pool area.
  8. Washing the restaurant’s linen.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Primary School Leaving Certificate plus 2 years’ experience.

 

7. Post: Receptionist (4)

Responsible to: Front Office Supervisor

Job Purpose: To provide front office services.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties

  1. Checking guests in and out
  2. Attending to incoming and outgoing calls.
  3. Taking bookings.
  4. Invoicing customers and receipting cash.
  5. In-house banking of revenue.
  6. Preparing sales reports.
  7. Identifying room status discrepancies.
  8. Handling guests’ queries.
  9. Reporting unusual activities.
  10. Up-selling hotel products and services.
  11. Leaning reception area.
  12. Evaluating daily business transactions (night auditing)
  13. Providing business services.

 

 Qualification and experience.

  • Certificate in front Office operations.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar.
  • Good communication skills.

 

 8. Post: Kitchen porter (4)

Responsible to: Chef

Job Purpose: To ensure cleanliness in the kitchen

Key Responsibilities.

  1. Cleaning the kitchen, equipment and utensils.
  2. Carrying foodstuffs for immediate use and storage.
  3. Ordering and safe-keeping of cleaning materials.
  4. Preparing meals for staff.
  5. Up-selling hotel products and services.
  6. Cleaning the floor and fridges at the kitchen.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education

9. Post: Chef (9)

Responsible to: Head Chef

Responsible for: Kitchen Porter

Job Purposes: To manage kitchen operations.

 

Key Responsibilities/ Duties

  1. Preparing food.
  2. Cleaning utensils and equipment.
  3. Receiving and storing ordered foodstuff.
  4. Up-selling hotel products and services.
  5. Receiving customer’ order from waiters.
  6. Preparing sales summaries.

1.Post:  Driver (4)

Responsible to: Depot Manager

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Cleaning and washing all company vehicles
  2. Checking availability of spare tyre and tools in the vehicle
  3. Checking levels of fuel, oil, engine coolant, tyre pressure and brake fluid in all vehicles.
  4. Checking vehicles licenses, certificate of fitness and insurance validity.
  5. Collecting and delivering company goods and any other assigned trips.
  6. Recording trips in log book.
  7. Reporting vehicle defect or damage of vehicles.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education,
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Flexing to work during including weekends.
  • Responsible, caring attitude and mature personality.

 

2. Post: Guard (8)

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Reporting for: N/A

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Conducting parade inspection and ensure proper handovers are done.
  • Ensure log of sells van are recorded correctly.
  • Monitoring and controlling access to the warehouse.
  • Ensuing that warehouse premises are clean.
  • Ensuring 24hours’ security provided to the warehouse premises.
  • Protecting available products and any other materials from theft.
  • Ensuring that every staff declares his/her belongings that are coming similar to what is available in the warehouse.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Must have MSCE.
  • Must be strong.
  • 2 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Sober minded.
  • Those with security certificate training will have added advantage.

 

 3. Post: Sales Person (4)

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Reporting for: N/A

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Meet and exceed sales targets and revenues goals set by the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with existing and potential customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Promote new and existing products.
  • Coordinate with the depot manager and logistics team to ensure smooth order fulfilment and delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the manager to prevent stakeouts or overstocks in vans or selling points.
  • Process customers’ orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation.
  • Plan and execute a sales call schedule to maximize route coverage and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other sales team members to share best practices and strategies for success.
  • Report any issues or dispute that raises with customers, to ensure positive outcome.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and work to find satisfactory solutions.
  • Seek feedback from customers and colleagues to improve sales and performance.

 

Qualifications and experience.

  • Must have MSCE.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Sales and Marketing.
  • 1-year experience in similar role.

4. Post: Bartender (2)

Reporting to: Food and Beverages Supervisors

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Cleaning the bar at the beginning of every shift.
  2. Ordering beverages stocks.
  3. Cleaning materials.
  4. Condiments and operating equipment from Stores in accordance with par stock.
  5. Displaying all beverages available before service on the bar shelf.
  6. Welcoming quests, presenting bar tariff, food and cocktail menu
  7. Explain contents and offer suggestions.
  8. Taking orders form guests
  9. Presenting bills to guests.
  10. Participating in stock counts.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • Certificate in Food and Beverage Service
  • 3 years’ experience in a busy Hotel bar.
  • Good customer care and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of various beverages.

 

5. Post: Pool Attendant (1)

Reporting to: Hotel Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Cleaning the swimming pool and its surroundings.
  2. Checking stocking levels of cleaning chemicals.
  3. Checking swimming pool water levels.
  4. Checking filtration system on daily basis.
  5. Attending to guests’ requests and complaints.
  6. Practice strict hygiene and health in dressing and work habits.
  7. Any other duties assigned from time to time.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education.
  • A formal Certificate in Life Saving Skills.
  • Basic First Aiding Skills.
  • 3 years’ experience in a related capacity.

 

 6. Post: Depot Manager (Castel Distributor) (1)

Reporting to: Human Resource Manager

Reporting for: Cashier, Sales Persons, Loaders, Drivers, and Guards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve depot operations and support business growth.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and innovations to ensure the depot remains competitive.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align depot operation with overall business goal.
  • Oversee daily operations of the depot, ensuring smooth and efficient function.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock is maintained and minimizing wastage or loss.
  • Implement and oversee the processes for receiving, storing and dispatching goods.
  • Schedule shifts and assign duties to staff members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely cost-effective distribution.
  • Manage the fleet delivery vehicles.
  • Monitor and improve delivery processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage risks related to the storage and distribution of alcohol, including theft and damage.
  • Maintain strong customer relationship and address their concerns and inquiries promptly.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and expense management for the depot.
  • Implement cost control measures to improve profitability.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and manage with system.
  • Ensuring that the cash has been banked on daily basis.
  • Pressing order and receive beverages from Castel.
  • Manage all staff (loaders, drivers, salespersons, cashier, guards

 

Qualification and experience

  • Diploma in Business Administration or logistics and supply chain management or other related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

 

 7. Post: Loader (8)

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sales vans are loaded accordingly and accurately against order.
  • Ensuring that empty bottles are sorted accordingly.
  • Ensure that warehouse is clean.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

Qualification and experience

  • Must be physically strong.
  • Knowledge in bottle sorting.
  • Those with MSCE have added advantage.
  • Willing to work under pressure.

 

8. Post: Cashier (1)

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Reporting for: Sales Persons

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately handle cash.
  • Collecting cash from all corners of business.
  • Providing written information to the depot manager on day-to-day received cash.
  • Paying invoices of received products.
  • Making follow-up if any of the sales team have balance.
  • Providing guidelines on how the work will be done on particular day.
  • Allocate personnel on duties.
  • Reporting the faults of vehicles to the Depot Manager after getting information from drivers
  • Providing records of vehicle documents such as Insurance, C.O.F and Road permit to the
  • Supervising the vehicles when there is maintenances.
  • Work closely with sales team.
  • Follow all procedures to protect cash and other assets.
  • Handle any discrepancies in transaction to find solution
  • Prepare and make bank deposits and payments as required.

 

Qualification and experiences 

  • Must have MSCE with credit in mathematics.
  • Those with diplomas will have added advantage.
  • 2 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

9. Post: Store Keeper (1)

Reporting to: Hotel Manager

Reporting for: Chefs, Bar tenders, and housekeeper

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and keeping different items from the store.
  • Issuing items to different departments as ordered by the head of departments.
  • Keeping all records of good received and issued.
  • Ensuring that food served to the customer is in line with order on the dockets.

Qualification and experience

  • Must have MSCE.
  • 2 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Those with diploma or certificate in storekeeping will have added advantage.

 

10. Post: Bar Waiter (1)

Reporting to: Bar tender.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers .
  • Taking orders for drink and snacks from customers.
  • Pressing customers’ orders to bar tender.
  • Serving drinks and snacks to customers as per order.
  • Ensuring that bar is clean at all times.
  • Collecting payment from the customers and handing it over to the bar tender.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Must have MSCE.
  • Certificate in Food and Beverages will be added advantage

 

11. Post: Shop Assistant (3)

Reporting to: Shop keeper

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the shop is clean.
  • Offloading goods from the vehicle to the stores or shop.
  • Loading the ordered goods by customer.
  • Welcoming customers.
  • Selling products to customers.
  • Serving customers on goods’ prices.
  • Parking goods on shelves and putting on prices.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualification and experience

  • Must have MSCE.
  • Must be strong.
  • Sober minded.
  • Willing to work under pressure.
