Vacancy Announcement

Kamuzu Vocational Rehabilitation and Training Centre (KVRTC) is Malawi Council for the Handicapped training institution based in Magomero in Chiradzulu. The Centre provides vocational and skills development training programs to persons with disabilities.

Kamuzu Vocational Rehabilitation and Training Centre KVRTC is inviting qualified and well experienced individuals to fill the following positions

 

 

1. Farm Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations.
• Submit request for purchase of supplies such as fertilizers, seeds, feed and vaccines.
• Supervise staff, monitor crops and animals and handle various administrative tasks.
• Marketing farm’s products and maintain relationship with vendors and clients so as to ensure maximum profitability of the farm.
• Maintain knowledge of pests and diseases and understanding how they spread and how to treat them.
• Understand the implications of weather and make contingency plans.
• Keep financial records up to date.
• Maintain and monitor the quality of yield, whether livestock or crop.
• Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Diploma in Agriculture or its equivalent.
• Superb communication and inter personal skills.
• Extensive experience in a farming related field.

2. Trainers

i. Trainer in Fabrication and Welding (1)
ii. Trainer in Tailoring Fashion and Design (1)
iii. Trainer in Motor Cycle Mechanics (2)
iv. Trainer in Brick laying (2)
v. Trainer in Carpentry and Joinery (2)
vi. Trainer in Agriculture (1)

Qualifications

• For i – vi a minimum of MSCE with Level 3 TEVET certificate or Malawi Advanced craft preferably with two years teaching experience.
• An applicant with Diploma in Agriculture will have an added advantage for the position of a trainer in Agriculture
• Applicants with excellent communication skills and knowledge of working with students with disabilities will have an added advantage

Duties

• Preparing schemes of work and lesson plan
• Administering student register
• Teaching students and ensuring that classes are clean
• Submitting requests for teaching and other materials needed through the Head of Training
• Any other duties assigned from time to time
