Girl Up Elevate New Member Application August 2024
Welcome to Girl Up Elevate! We are a youth-led organization based in Blantyre, Malawi, dedicated to empowering young women and girls to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
To become a member of Girl Up Elevate, we ask that you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants should demonstrate a genuine passion for advancing gender equality and supporting Girl Up’s mission.
- Members are expected to actively participate in our club by submitting their weekly report, attending club meetings and participating club events and activities. You are required to set aside at least 8 hours per month for club activities.
- Girl Up is an inclusive movement and welcomes candidates of any gender.
- You should be a resident of Blantyre. If you are interested in joining but are not a resident of Blantyre, the only subcommittee you can join is the Global Outreach Team.
Prospective members can only join Girl Up Elevate if there is a vacant position within our subcommittees. - President’s Team- Grants and Funding Coordinator (3 positions available)
- Event Coordination Team-Event Planner
- Public Relations Team- Content Creator
- Public Relations Team-Media and Event Coordinator
- Global Outreach Team- Resource Development
- Global Outreach Team- Event Planner
Application Process
- Review the job descriptions in the Google Doc and select the role(s) that align with your passions and skills
- Fill out the required details in the Google Form
- Follow the instructions to complete the task associated with your chosen role. The tasks are also in the Google Doc.
- If you are shortlisted, we will contact you to schedule an interview
Please note the following operational guidelines:
- Membership may be limited due to capacity constraints. If all positions are filled, prospective members are encouraged to keep checking the form.
- Members are expected to dedicate at least 8 hours per month to club activities. Failure to submit weekly reports or attend biweekly meetings may result in removal from the organization.
- We hold 2 club meetings per month and at least 2 events throughout the month. These usually happen during the weekends and in the evenings to accommodates everyone’s schedules.
