Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) is seeking applications for the position of:
MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC
The successful applicant will report to Motor Vehicle Maintenance (MVM) Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:
- Troubleshooting forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detects imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
- Carring out A, B, C services and repairs to light duty vehicles and passenger vehicles
- Diagnose and repairs mast and attachment components.
- Ensuring that work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements
- Reassemble forklifts and makes all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation
- Identifies mechanical faults and recommend the right spare parts for rectification of the fault
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have Malawi School Certificate of Education
- National Trade Test Grade 1/Tevet Level 3 in Automobile mechanics or Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics
- High skills in troubleshooting mobile hydraulics machines & electric forklifts repairs
- At least three years’ hands on experience in a busy motor vehicle workshop
