MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (Two positions)

Inter Aide has been working in Malawi since 1992 with interventions of agricultural
development, access to water and sanitation, maintenance of water points and community
health in the Central and Southern regions of the country. In the agricultural field, the
association focuses on the dissemination of agro-ecological practices, agro-forestry and the
improvement of small-scale livestock management, particularly the raising of local chickens, which is essential for rural households in Malawi.

Inter Aide is looking for two Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, who will be based in Nathenje and Mitundu, in Lilongwe District, where the programs are based.

 

 

M&E OFFICER FOR NEWCASTLE DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAM (NDCP) – based in Nathenje, Lilongwe

The NDCP program focused, over the past ten years, on the vaccination of chickens
belonging to small producers in the most isolated areas of 3 districts through community
vaccinators. The program also supports the training and capacity building of vaccinators’
organizations, supply of the vaccine by the animal health department and programming
and organization of vaccination campaigns.

The main mission of the M&E Officer will be to develop and implement the M&E
component of the program in Lilongwe, Phalombe and Zomba districts. As part of his /
her duties, the M&E officer will be required to make frequent trips to the villages in the
intervention areas.

He/she will be responsible to:

  • Prepare, collect and analyse data related to vaccination activities
  • Propose and conduct some ad-hoc surveys
  • Compile vaccination campaign reports
  • Compile annual vaccination report
  • Contribute to program’s reports, annual reports and stakeholders’ presentation
  • Monitor and evaluate field activities with the collaboration of the project’s coordinators
  • Contribute to the definition of the strategy and make inputs to constantly improve
    the program.

Profile of the Candidate

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or related fields with a specialisation or
    strong confirmed experience in monitoring and evaluation;
  • Ability to live in rural areas, aptitude for field work, flexibility and dynamism
  • Able to work within a rigorous allowance/handouts policy framework for employees,
    partners and beneficiaries
  • Driving license Category A or A1 (motorbike).
