MEDICAL EQUIPMENT INVENTORY CONTROLLER

Mwaiwathu Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Medical Equipment Inventory Controller tenable at the Hospital along Chileka Road in Blantyre.

Position Context

Reporting to the Medical Services Manager, the Medical Equipment Inventory Controller will coordinate the management of inventory of surgical equipment of the hospital.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • To be a custodian of all the surgical equipment by ensuring it is adequate, traceable and functional.

  • To develop & maintain a surgical equipment list & data base.

  • To implement preventative maintenance plan for all surgical equipment.

  • To train users on how to use and store surgical equipment.

  • To establish equipment life cycle management protocols for surgical equipment.

  • To work collaboratively with relevant section heads regarding maintenance, procurement, disposal and audit of surgical equipment among others.

  • To produce monthly and ad-hoc reports on the status of surgical equipment inventory

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or any related field.
  • A training in biomedical Engineering will be an added advantage.
  • A registration with the Medical Council of Malawi or Nurses Council of Malawi.
  • At least 5-years relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Two years’ experience in Clinical or Nursing services.
