Marymount Girls Catholic Secondary School
Marymount Catholic Secondary School, operating under the Catholic Diccese of Mzuzu, and situated in Mzuzu City, is a key provider of girls’ education in Malawi in a quest to attehd to the health needs of the students at the school, an opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and committed Medical Assistant.
Applications are invited from interested candidates to fill this position tenable at Marymount Girls Catholic Secondary School in Mzuzu.
The Medical Assistant will be managing health needs of the students at our school clinic
situated within the precincts of Marymount Catholic Girls Secondary School campus.
The suitable candidate will, among other duties, do the following:
•Manage students health needs at the school clinic and cover the clinic 24/7.
•Do health screening, examination, diagnosis and prescribe appropriate medication to the students.
•Refer student patients appropriately. e. g. for laboratory and/or, radiography examination as well as for further treatment to other hospitals
•Aggregate, analyze and interpret relevant data for appropriate decision making at all levels e. g. clinic level. management level and Board level regarding heaith provision at Marymount Girls Catholic Secondary School.
•Produce reports to the School Manager and other members of Management team as may be deemed necessary and appropriate.
•Record sick students’ data in relevant registers and making sure the registers have appropriate and adequate details for ease of reference.
•Assist in making sure the clinic is properly stocked with drugs and other medical supplies for appropriate care to the sick students.
•Function as part of a team, both in the clinic and the school at large.
•Attend to relevant visitors and/or stakeholders in regard to health care at Marymount Girls Catholic Secondary School.
•Ensure the registration of clinic is kept up to date at all times and advising management when appropriate license fees are due for payment.
•Any other duties as assigned to them by school management from time to time.
QUALIFICATION
The suitable candidate shall have:
•A certificate in Clinical Medicine and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
EXPERIENCE
•Applicants must have a minimum experience of 5 years at a hospital and/or similar settings as that of Marymount Secondary School.
•Retired Medical Assistants will have an added advantage.
•Female Medical Assistants are specifically encouraged to apply.
FURTHER REQUIREMENTS
The suitable candidate must be:
A practicing Christian, and please attach a letter of referral from your Priest, Catechist, Pastor, Sheikh, etc.
Team player Self starter and committed to providing health care to young girls.
