Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) is seeking applications for the position of:

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The successful applicant will report to Mechanical Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Conducting daily maintenance on Re-drier, Fishburne, Packing conveyors and associated equipment
  • Day to day general plant inspection checks
  • Ensuring that daily maintenance on TL1 equipment and by Product Line are done properly
  • Conducting weekly maintenance on final screening and micro pulses
  • Fitting sprockets and chains, V-belts and pulleys
  • Conducting condition monitoring using vibration analyser
  • Assemble gearboxes and drives alignment
  • Installing mechanical equipment
  • Conducting Thermo imaging on mechanical components of TL1 and by products Line

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must have Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • National Trade Test Grade 1 or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least three years’ experience in Plant Maintenance and installation

  • Should be of sober habit with good interpersonal skills
  • Self driven , disciplined and motivated.
