POSITION: MARKETING INTERN

 

ShareWORLD Open University is a registered and accredited University by the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE). The University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The University is inviting applications for hardworking Intern to join our marketing team in all stages of marketing initiatives and campaigns.

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION

A marketing intern is responsible for assisting management in marketing operations under the guidance of Business Development Manager.  She/he will support the marketing team in all stages of marketing initiatives, including developing and maintaining marketing channels.  She/he will implement marketing operations, both online and offline. She/he will reach out and maintain the desired target audience through social media networks, forums.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These shall include and not limited to the following:

  • Help to develop and implement marketing and sells concepts
  • Helping distributing marketing materials;
  • Assisting the marketing team in administrative tasks;
  • Assist in organizing marketing events;
  • Help in marketing promotional activities such as branding, advertising etc.;
  • Assist in maintaining customer relationship management systems in the university.
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail, and websites)
  • Help with the planning and hosting of marketing events
  • Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback
  • Research and evaluate competitor marketing and digital content

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A successful marketing intern should possess a good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques. She/he should be enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and additionally must possess:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Marketing or any related discipline.
  • Must have passion for marketing and demonstrate creativity.
  • Must be familiar and confident with digital platforms.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Basic understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms
  • Researching abilities.
  • Knowledge on content creation is a plus, even if not professionally
  • Hardworking, dedicated and able to take initiatives
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Always presentable
