MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
This position is tenable at Mzuzu Brewery. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all installation, maintenance and repair works at the Brewery as well as managing teams made up of Technicians, Artisans and process machine operators who execute tasks according to brewery’s operational requirements.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Inspecting facilities periodically to determine equipment condition and necessary maintenance
- Preparing weekly maintenance schedules and allocate workRecruiting, supervising and training maintenance technicians (electricians, welders etc.)
- Installations, inspections and maintenance of plants
- Inspecting and maintaining building systems (heating, ventilations etc.)
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensuring compliance
- Monitoring inventory of materials and equipmentParticipating in the coordination of projects (e.g. renovations, equipment installations, boiler COF)
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards, health and safety regulationsHiring and supervising tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- Those with Higher National Diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering can also apply.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge of Maintenance Systems Discipline (General Fitting, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Filling Equipment, Boilers, Heat equipment)
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations
- Understanding of budgeting and performance management
- Excellent planning and leadership abilities
- An eye for details
- Computer Knowledge
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and team leadership
- A willingness to work during weekends and at odd hours
