International Haulage Company
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Maintenance Manager for the leading international Haulage company. The post is based in Blantyre.
The maintenance manager is an integral component to the success of the organisation. The company therefore will require the maintenance manager to execute the following duties during employment:
- Report to directors and senior regarding any maintenance matters that may arise.
- Ensure that vehicle maintenance is documented effectively and stored for referral purposes.
- Plan for vehicles to be maintained in accordance to the schedule composed.
- Oversee the maintenance personnel conduction of duties and evaluate accordingly for all three regions in Malawi.
- Liaise with the operation department when vehicles are required.
- Oversee the inventory control and stock.
- Implement measures to reduce the cost of down time on vehicles.
- Control costs in terms of identifying parts to procure for vehicles.
- Allocating work to maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that maintenance is being affected in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provide knowledge to fellow stakeholders of mechanical matters.
- Train maintenance personnel on methods to achieve maintenance goals and tasks.
- Monitor trends of maintenance for individual vehicles.
- Update clients on the mechanical status of the vehicles.
- Introduce ideas which will improve the maintenance function holistically.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanic/ Automobile or related field
- Minimum of five’s experience in heavy duty vehicle maintenance
The company expects the maintenance manager to have a thorough and hands-on approach to this post.
