The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Malawi (BCMCF-M) is a not-for-profit organization working in partnership with the Malawi government in the health sector. Our mission is to improve the health and lives of children with HIV, cancer and blood disorders through high quality, high impact, ethical, state of the art comprehensive care and treatment, training of health professionals and clinical research. We are situated within the Kamuzu Central Hospital premises, opposite Kamuzu College of Nursing.
BCM-CFM invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following positions of:
Job Summary
The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for assisting in repairing of machinery, equipment and building systems. He will also be responsible for inspection of buildings plumbing, electrical and ventilation systems and conduct general mentainance wherever necessary.
For the following duties:-

- Inspecting buildings
- Sourcing or fabricating replacement parts for electronic system
- Assembling, installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining electronic system
- Ensuring all power and manual tools are operated in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Interpreting drawings
- Maintaining electrical equipment and supplies
- Plumbing maintenance
- Assist Facilities & Admin officer in Asset management
- Solar maintenance
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications And Experience Requirements

- Should have Malawi craft advance in Electrical & Electronics
- Trade test grade one
- Sound knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical
- Proven general maintenance experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Those with experience in medical equipment will have an added advantage
- Those who have city & guilds will have added advantage
