POSITION: LUBRICANTS AND SPECIALTIES MANAGER

Location: Blantyre

JOB DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Lubricants and Specialties Manager in the Commercial Department tenable at Head Office in Blantyre. The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Manager responsible for General Trade, Lubricants and Specialties business. The major activities of the position are:

1. Take the lead on all lube related Health Safety Environment (HSE)requirements at all customer sites
2. Establish lube budgets, coordinate importation and stock forecast from suppliers and other clients – Distributors.
3. Grow lube sales through the recruitment of regional distributors and development of a defined customer prospection plan.
4. Manage the introduction of new products, cost efficient and environmentally friendly lubricants.
5. Develop and implement Lubrication programs for major customers by developing specific dashboards for each client to retain them.
6. Assist Distributors through Distributor Management System to set KPIs, training of staff, and prospect new high volume clients within the vicinity of their businesses to promote business growth.
7. Set targets for lubricants and other specialties products each client to achieve budgets and targets for the company.
8. Manage the marketing communication plans and spend for Distributors and the industry at large by working with the communications team to develop promotions, campaigns and adverts.
9. Implement and manage E-Lubes for clients.
10. Provide monthly reports to management on sales, stocks, competitor activity, HSE, training and any other as may be defined from time to time.
11. Provide Technical support to all distributors and clients
12. Provide and conduct lube surveys, product specifications, material data sheets and any other relevant technical information to distributors and clients.
13. Manage credit for all clients under the portfolio to minimize our exposure.
14. Ensure conformity of purchased, imported, stocked and marketed product for all business lines for the company
15. Implement best product safety practices for the company
16. Responsible for chemical regulatory compliance in the country in close collaboration with Regional Product Steward

a) Follow up of the list of active commercial products
b) Create ad keep up to date the list of the Raw Material Safety Data Sheets
c) Request Safety Data Sheets creation for local products
d) Carry out regulatory monitoring of national regulations and check the compliance of raw materials and finished products to the national inventories
e) Take care of activities related to chemical regulations and country-specific declarations (Safety Data Sheets sending to clients, communication with customers and suppliers, import notifications, registration).

17. Review all product labels to ensure compliance with local safety regulations

Qualification and Experience

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of industrial and marketing experience.
2. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
3. Self-starter, results-oriented and ability to work independently.
4. Strong leadership and negotiation skill qualities
