A newly established international transport company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill vacant position of Logistics/Transport officer tenable at its offices in Zomba.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Logistics/Transport officer shall be responsible for:
- Day to day management of international and national transport business.
- Responsible for management of a fleet of trucks to ensure that they are all roadworthy and in good working order.
- Day to day Supervision of drivers
- Marketing and soliciting transport business both within and outside Malawi.
- Liaising with clearing agents and all boarder control agencies to ensure timely clearing of trucks.
- Efficient management of fuel to ensure that there is no abuse or wastage.
- Performing any other duties related to the position.
Required attributes and qualification
- Relevant qualification in the field of transport/logistics or related qualification.
- Not less than 5 years experience in a similar position
- Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills in English.
- High integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
