African Parks is a non-profit organisation that takes on direct responsibility for rehabilitation and long-term management of National Parks, in partnership with governments and local communities. By adopting a business approach to conservation, supported by do nor funding, African Parks aims at making each park sustainable in the long-term, thereby contributing to economic development and poverty alleviation. AP in Malawi currently manages Majete, Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserves and Liwonde National Park.

LODGE MANAGER
African Parks – Liwonde invites suitably qualified, experienced and dynamic person to fill the position of Lodge Manager tenable at Liwonde National Park.
The right candidate would be someone who is passionate about the work being done by African Parks in partnership with the Malawi Government within the conservation sector in Malawi. The Lodge Manager will be expected to do the following:
- Assist in the daily management of the lodge
- Supervise and coordinate staff when the Tourism Manager is absent
- Help manage guest relations, including check-ins and addressing guest needs
- Support in stock management and procurement of supplies
- Ensure regular maintenance and cleaning of the lodge
- Administer financial responsibilities such as cash handling, invoicing, and expense tracking
- Manage guest relations, ensuring high service standards
- Provide backup support for preparing and submitting reports to the Tourism Manager
- Contribute to staff training and development to maintain service quality
- Handle any guest complaints or issues in a professional manner•
- Promote sustainability and conservation practices within the lodge operations
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience managing a lodge, hotel, or hospitality
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to oversee diverse team
- Proficiency in financial management, stock control, and budgeting.
- Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to live onsite and work flexible hours.
- Clean conduct record (no convictions).
