POSITION – LODGE CLEANER
REQUIREMENTS – Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)

Hotel cleaners are responsible for keeping guest rooms, public areas, and other parts of the hotel in clean and orderly condition. They may also be tasked with performing minor repairs or maintenance duties as needed.
Hotel cleaners typically work long hours—especially nights and weekends—to ensure that guests have a clean room to return to after a day of exploring the city.
Hotel Cleaner Job Duties
Hotel cleaners have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
• Vacuuming floors and shampooing carpets or deep cleaning floors using a steam cleaner
• Cleaning guest rooms by making beds, cleaning windowsills, changing linens, vacuuming carpets, dusting furnishings, and cleaning bathrooms
• Cleaning and sterilizing bathrooms including removing hair from drains, cleaning toilets, and scrubbing tubs and showers
• Cleaning common areas such as hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and reception areas
• Changing bed linens, making beds, vacuuming rugs, dusting furniture, cleaning mirrors and windows, replacing light bulbs, and removing cobwebs
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking restrooms in public places such as airports, train stations, bus terminals, schools, hospitals, office buildings, retail stores, restaurants, bars, hotels, convention centers, and government facilities
• Spot cleaning walls, baseboards, and removing stains from carpets
• Cleaning walls and ceilings to remove spots, smudges, and other blemishes
• Cleaning upholstery, blinds, drapes, and other soft furnishings using specialized equipment such as a steam cleaner or vacuum with
