Qualifications and Attributes

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria regarding bar admission and educational qualifications:

1. For the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, applicants must have been admitted to the bar for a minimum of 10 years and hold at least an Upper Second-Class Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree, along with a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from a recognized university.

2. For the positions of Associate and/or Professor, applicants must have been admitted to the bar for at least 10 years and possess a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree, a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM), and a PhD from a recognized university.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to carry out the following duties among others, to initiate and conduct research in the area of specialisation, participate in community outreach and participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including deliver clinical and experiential legal education at all levels and, to lecture two or more of the following courses:

Law of Evidence, Legislative Drafting; Clinical Legal Education and Revenue Law.
