We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, analysing samples, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and assisting in research and development activities to support our product offerings. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in laboratory practices, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for agricultural science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Testing: Conduct chemical, physical, and biological tests on agricultural samples.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control tests to ensure products meet specified standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Recording: Accurately record test results and maintain detailed logs of experiments and observations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment as well as maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organization.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports of test results and findings for review by the Lab Manager and Senior Management.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and chemicals to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the research and development team and other departments to support product development and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Agricultural Science, Food Science or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments as well as laboratory techniques, including titration, chromatography, and spectroscopy. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skill with the ability to work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report preparation and teamwork. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to laboratory procedures and equipment
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with agricultural products and their testing methods is an advantage. Familiarity with regulatory standards related to agricultural products.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in laboratory practices and safety procedures are a plus.
