Project Hope

Project Hope Namibia in Malawi (PHN-MA) seeks qualified Malawian candidate to fill various positions for the USAID funded Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo Activity (ANAPA) Project, a project aimed at preventing new HIV infections and improve the health wellbeing and Protection of Children, Adolescents, their families and Young Women (CAFYW) living with, affected by and vulnerable to HIV. ANAPA will be implemented in high HIV burdened nine districts in Malawi (Blantyre, Chikwawa, Lilongwe, Machinga, Mangochi, Mulanje, Phalombe, Thyolo and Zomba). The program focus on Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM). The approach is also including but not limited to System Strengthening, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in close collaboration with Government of Malawi (GoM). The project is searching for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

IT Systems Assistant

Reports to: IT Systems Specialist

Location: Blantyre, Malawi

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the IT Systems Specialist in setting up and maintenance of IT policies and procedures.

  • Assist in management, oversee, and coordination of all IT systems in the office.

  • Provide IT support to all departments and field offices.

  • Attending to LAN and ensuring connectivity all the time.

  • Assist the IT System Specialist manage the server.

  • Updating user accounts on the network domain.

  • Provide training and administrative support to end users.

  • Maintain a knowledge base of reoccurring issues & their associated fixes whilst investigating root causes.

  • Carry out daily operational tasks, user administration, housekeeping tasks and system monitoring to ensure the effective operation of IT systems and facilities.

  • Carry out IT installations, implementations, configuration & roll outs & other technical duties as required.

  • Produce and maintain technical and procedural documentation as required.

  • Provide training on various applicable software to internal and external users.

  • Provide demonstrations to potential, new, and existing customers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

Experience

  • At least 3 years professional experience of practical IT management.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and abilities required.

  • Internet & routing protocols

  • Understanding of Cloud Computing

  • Network Security and Architecture Experience

  • Microsoft Windows

  • Active Directory and similar tools

  • PC and Printer Hardware

  • Microsoft Office, Outlook

  • Networking Protocols/technologies

  • Server Administration Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
