A career opportunity has arisen in our organisation for the position of IS Support Specialist.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the IT Controller, the IS Support Specialist is responsible for making sure that the Pyxus IS environment is maintained in accordance with Pyxus IT policies.
The IS Support Specialist ensures that all the peripherals are in good working condition, assist users with day to day computing issues as well as monitoring of all remote sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots general software problems & provide immediate solutions (First line support (first point of contact) on all reported IT incidents.), Coordinates with other technical staff when problems require additional analysis or assistance and Works on to the remediation and mitigation of uncovered problems behind incidents
- Maintains computer communication with peripheral devices (scales, printers, scanners.).
- Coordinates development of shipping labels.
- Makes sure incidents are logged in Incident Management system and Updates users on the incidents resolution progress.
- Supports remote third party warehouse applications, users of mobile device farm applications, Qlikview, Clinic management application etc.
- Installs operating systems and applications and maintains the same on all the users using the standard build for Laptops and Desktops. Installs and configure farm mobile device applications.
- Keeps IT hardware inventory up to date – computers, printers, scanners and keeps IT software inventory up to date – Application software used on computers and their corresponding backups.
- Monitors that users are running only approved software on all computers. Ensures computers appearing in Service desk match with those in AD.
- Carries out primary repairing & maintenance and Coordinates major maintenance of printers, photocopiers, document scanners and RF or Android scanners by external suppliers and log supplier performance
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited institution
- At least five years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience in General IT support and Network support
- Should have knowledge of ITIL, Software licensing and strong Cisco Networking skills
- Experience working in a multinational environment will be an added advantage
