SDK Holdings Limited, a parent company of SDK Engineering Limited and SDK Logistics Limited, would like to recruit hard-working, detail-oriented and proactive interns across multiple departments:

1.0 Accounts Assistant

The interns will provide accounting support to the accounts department within SDK Holdings Limited.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining financial records and ensure compliance with accounting regulations

  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions

  • Prepare invoices, receipts, and payments

  • Perform monthly and year-end closing processes

  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations

  • Assist with VAT and tax filings

  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments

  • Support budgeting and forecasting

  • Maintain financial documents for audits and compliance

  • Provide administrative support to the finance team

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

  • Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Familiar with Public Finance Management Act and Taxation Act

  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimum supervisions

2.0 Executive Assistant

The primary role of the Executive Assistant Intern will be to provide comprehensive support to the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of executive functions.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements

  • Handling emails, phone calls, and correspondence

  • Creating and organising reports, presentations, and other documents

  • Booking flights, hotels and transportation

  • Managing office supplies, filling systems, and general office tasks

  • Setting up meeting rooms, preparing agendas, and taking notes

  • Organizing events like conferences, workshops, and company gatherings

  • Acting as a liaison between executives and internal/external parties

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Communication, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field.

  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive).

  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

 

3.0 Administrative Assistant

The intern will support clerical and organizational functions within SDK Holdings Limited.

Responsibilities

  • Managing daily administrative tasks, including filing, maintaining administration and HR records, document handling, and monitoring office supplies inventory

  • Organizing and facilitating a clean and conducive work environment

  • Communicating and distributing administrative policies to all staff members

  • Coordinating logistics for internal and external events, including venue bookings, material preparation, and travel arrangements

  • Performing data capturing activities

  • Drafting and distributing memos, emails, and other correspondence as directed

  • Tracking and managing office equipment, including scheduling maintenance and repairs as necessary

  • Preparing reports and documenting meeting minutes

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Business Communication, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, or any related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong communication, organization, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

 

4.0 Operations Officers

The interns will provide support to operations department ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of daily operational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies.

  • Monitor project timelines and coordinate cross-departmental workflows.

  • Oversee procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials. Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery.

  • Ensure adherence to Malawian regulations and company policies.

  • Maintain documentation and assist in preparing operational/financial reports.

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and site monitoring. Track expenditures and optimize resource utilization.

  • Act as a liaison with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to address concerns and support business development efforts.

  • Identify inefficiencies and assist in implementing systems or technologies to enhance productivity.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and operational software.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of Malawian business regulations and compliance standards.

5.0 Human Resource Development Officer

The intern will work closely with the HR team on key development projects and day-to-day functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the design and delivery of employee training and development programs

  • Supporting the performance management and employee feedback processes

  • Conducting research on best practices in talent development and organization learning

  • Helping maintain HR records and documentation related to learning and development

  • Supporting internal communications, employee engagement initiatives, and onboarding

  • Contributing to HR projects and initiatives that promote a positive company culture

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team oriented environment

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with HR software is a plus
